| JDRF Family Day at La Jolla Institute of Allergy and Immunology 10:45am - Program begins promptly at 11am JDRF funds cutting edge T1D research at LIAI, don’t miss this opportunity to meet the scientists and take lab tours! Adults can attend special presentations, while children and teens enjoy fun games and activities! Industry vendors will be on site to share their latest diabetes products as well. Come enjoy this opportunity to meet other children, parents, teens, and adults living with T1D; it’s a great way to form new friendships within the JDRF family! 11-11:45am Welcome and Research Update* Matthias von Herrath, M.D. Member & Director, Type 1 Diabetes Center La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology For: All Adults 11am-2pm Supervised games and activities for children and teens Including: “Ask a Scientist” & DiaBuddies teen game room 12-12:45pm School Issues, 504 Plans, and T1D Students’ Rights* Harold Wolff, author of JDRF’s School Advisory Toolkit For: Parents of children with T1D 12-3pm Guided lab tours** Diabetes vendor show 12-2pm Lunch donated by Rubio’s Menu includes: Rubio’s original fish tacos (please plan/pack your lunch accordingly) 1pm-2:45pm Ready, Set, Go: College and Type 1 Diabetes* A moderated panel of current college students, recent grads and parents will share their stories and answer questions about living with diabetes at college. For: Teens with T1D and their parents *Seats for the research update and educational presentations are limited and for adults only.
